The Green Cares Food Pantry, established in August 2009, continues to provide food to low- income families in Green County. Located just outside of Monticello, Wisconsin, Green Cares is the largest food pantry in Green County. The pantry is operational on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 10 AM to 7 PM, other Tuesdays from 4 PM to 7PM, Thursday mornings 9AM - 12:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8 AM - 11:30 AM, and will open for emergencies. Green Cares is open more frequently and during varied times of the day to increase pantry accessibility for low-income households. Households are asked to schedule appointments during regular business hours in order to receive pantry services, however, walk-ins are welcome and won't be turned away. Referrals from Green County Human Services, St. Vincent DePaul, Green County Health Department, and area churches continue to be made to Green Cares; both for emergency and ongoing services.
Green Cares Food Pantry is supported exclusively by volunteers - there are no paid staffers and SWCAP is our 501(c)(3).
